JOB TITLE: Associate General Counsel

JOB PURPOSE: We are seeking a experienced Associate General Counsel to lead our legal / compliance department and serve as a trusted advisor to our executive team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide comprehensive legal advice and counsel to the CEO, executive team on a broad range of matters, including corporate governance, contracts, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, employment law and litigation.
Lead the in-house legal / compliance team, including managing workload, mentoring associates, and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of legal services.
Develop and implement strategic legal initiatives that align with the company?s overall business goals.
Oversee all legal aspects of capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and other significant business transactions.
Manage outside counsel relationships and ensure cost-effective legal representation.
Stay abreast of current legal developments and industry trends that may impact the company?s operations.
Proactively identify and mitigate legal risks.
Foster a strong culture of ethics and compliance within the company.
Represent the company in legal matters as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
3 to 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney, with a significant focus on business law and/or in-house legal experience.
Financial services industry experience a plus.
Proven track record of success in providing strategic legal counsel to senior management teams.
Strong understanding of corporate governance.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast paced environment.
