The Director, Portfolio will lead a key role in the organizations product selection process by providing strategic research, evaluating and presenting scientific, technical, legal and development considerations to meet Taro's current and future growth needs. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive background consistent with managing multiple projects and be able to work closely with cross functional teams to define, identify, research, and quantify product selection as Taro continues its expansion goals.
AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Lead new product evaluation and selection process; providing 15-20 molecules each year for development
- Work with Taro Business Development Team to identify and evaluate new business opportunities.
- Work in conjunction with Taro Marketing Team to monitor and track new product launch progress, and actual launch dates
- Provide a monthly update of Future product launches to sales team each month as part of customer business reviews.
- Lead contract negotiations for Taro Private Label business opportunities.
- Conduct extensive analysis of potential new product opportunities from various prospective to include science, financial, IP, technical, and manufacturing.
- Conduct financial modeling to support business cases
- Create product specific revenue projections, prioritization and periodic review /revisions based on changing market dynamics, milestone project timelines and financial investments.
- Complete business development review and work to complete licensing
- Responsible for overall portfolio management and reporting
- Responsible to provide data review on portfolio in monthly and quarterly presentations to leadership
EDUCATION AND JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Relevant industry experience 10+ years, preferably in generic pharmaceuticals
- Science and business degree required; MBA preferred; R.Ph. a plus
- Strong orientation to detail and ability to understand complex requirements associated with product development
- Strong Excel skills; ability to analyze and interpret data
- Strong PowerPoint skills; and ability to organize, communicate and present information
- Ability to multi-task
The presently-anticipated base compensation pay range for this position is $175,000 to $214,000. Actual base compensation may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to geographical location and experience. Employees also receive various paid time off benefits, including vacation time and sick time.
