The FNP directly reports to the Medical Director and indirectly supervises the medical assistants. x000D x000D Responsibilities x000D-Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment for a specified patient population. x000D-Consult with staff physicians as needed.x000D-Furnishes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions, within their scope of practice.x000D-Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.x000D-Trains and supervises students engaged in specialty activities and procedures, as appropriate.x000D-Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.x000D-Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives. x000D-Continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.x000D-As appropriate to the position, participates in specific health promotion, education and/or prevention programs.x000D-Attends medical staff meetings and general staff meetings.x000D-Assists in the ongoing development and implementation of performance-improvement activities such as quality assurance, peer review, and staff development.x000D-Maintains a professional relationship with staff and patients.x000D-Assists in the coordination and integration of all health clinic outreach programs as directed by the Medical Director.x000D-Performs other related and/or necessary tasks to achieve clinic goals and objectives, as directed by the Medical Director.x000D-Other duties as assigned.x000D x000D Qualifications x000D-Must have a current California Nurse Practitioner license.x000D-Must have a current California license issued by the Board of Registered Nurses of California.x000D-Current registration issued by the DEA allowing the prescription of drugs.x000D-Current BLS certification and current national certificate.x000D-6 months clinical experience highly desired. x000D-Proficiency in medical Spanish highly preferred but not required.x000D-Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Records (EHR) a plus.x000D-Prior experience working in Community Health Clinics environment preferredx000D-Prior experience working with under-served patient population desired but not required. x000D-Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care. x000D-Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.x000D-Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise.x000D-Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.x000D-Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.x000D-Effective verbal and written communication in English.x000D-Ability advice, and train clinical interns in area of expertise may be required.x000D x000D Benefits x000D-Hiring Bonus: Yesx000D-Relocation Assistance: Yesx000D-Our benefits program is designed to protect your health, family and way of life.
