Primary Functions:
Under direction of the VP of Development, the Development Assistant is responsible for consistent and timely administration of the donor database, fulfilling reporting requests, and gift acknowledgments and other important outward-facing Development communications.
Job Responsibilities and Expectations
- Create new profiles and update and correct existing profiles and contact information in Development database, Raiser’s Edge, as well as ensure data hygiene by maintaining consistency and uniformity in data processes.
- Create and generate reports from Raiser’s Edge based on criteria defined by Development team.
- Partner with Finance department to deposit individual donations and gifts within 48 business hours of receipt, as well as generate and send acknowledgment letters.
- Manage process for donor appeal mailings, including the generation of mailing target list, merging letters and envelopes, and packaging mailer for delivery.
- Monitor multiple electronic platforms weekly for donor contributions, including, but not limited to, GiveMN, YourCause, NetworkforGood, United Way, and Benevity.
- Maintain regular donor email updates, as well as consistently update email distribution list for new additions and unsubscribes.
- Accurately track electronic transfers throughout the month.
- Close each month’s fundraising activities and report results for database reconciliation.
- Reconcile interoffice financial data at the end of each month.
- Support virtual and in-person points of engagement, including pulling invite lists and assisting with event logistics.
- Support fundraising events.
- Other duties as assigned by the VP of Development or other members of the Development or Marketing team.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Demonstrated and measurable years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, with expertise in Word and Excel, particularly mail merge functions.
- Demonstratable basic math skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of business etiquette.
- Commitment to actively engage in school wide Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts.
- Flexibility in work schedule to include some evening and weekend work.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation).
- Complete Virtus training, sign a Code of Conduct, and pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Multilingual skills; Spanish, Somali, or Vietnamese strongly preferred.
- Innovative, strategic thinker; ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Compensation details: 21-23 Hourly Wage
