Position Summary:
The Professional Practice Excellence RN Case Reviewer supports the Professional Practice Committee (PPC) through the management of data and information needed by the Committee for the performance of Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) and Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) in accordance with approved policies and the PPC Charter. The RN Case Reviewer will monitor, validate, and document aggregate data as well as individual case data based upon identified indicators using the designated format. The RN Case Reviewer develops accurate clinical case summaries, data trending, reports and analysis for the PPC as well as support Committee Members in their evaluation process. This position reports to the Director of Professional Practice Excellence who is responsible for maintaining and support of the Professional Practice Excellence review process. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.
Detailed responsibilities:
SUPPORT - Supports the PPC Committee Chair and Members in their OPPE and FPPE activities through the monitoring and validation of rate and rule indicators data
TRAINING - Supports the PPC Committee by orienting new members to the designated format for evaluation and documentation of reviews
DATA - Supports the PPC Committee Chair, Members, Quality Safety Officers and the Director, PPE with the identification and maintenance of data sources and streams for service specific indicators
COMMUNICATE - Ensures communication of reports and data to Clinical Service Chiefs or Quality Committees as determined by the PPC and at the request of the Committee
REVIEWS - Through an effective tracking mechanism, supports the PPC Committee in timely evaluation and closure of reviews
MAINTAIN - Securely maintains evaluation data, reports and minutes of the PPC; maintains all information in the strictest of confidence
FACILITATE - Facilitates individual practitioner review of their data upon their request
OVERSEE - Oversees and secures the collection of case review data as prescribed by policy for aggregation, analysis and presentation; create charts and graphs to facilitate the communication of data and trends
KNOWLEDGE - Maintains current knowledge of relevant regulatory standards for professional practice evaluation as well as approved policies, procedures and other relevant documents which guide the work and function of the Professional Practice Committee
