Job Responsibilities of the CT Tech:
- Prepare patients: Position patients to capture the appropriate images, and answer questions about the procedure
- Ensure safety: Sterilize radiologic equipment, and ensure the proper dose of radionuclides are administered
- Monitor patient comfort: Observe for adverse reactions or complications, and take appropriate action
- Evaluate images: Review images for quality, and correctly interpret doctors' written scanning instructions
- Administer contrast materials: Enhance the visibility of internal organs and tissues
- Perform procedures: Perform computed tomography (CT) procedures, and perform regular warm-up sequences on the CT scanner
Minimum Job Requirements as the CT Tech
- One year of experience as a Rad Tech but seeking to gain experience within the CT field.
- Graduate of ARRT approved Radiology program
- BLS Certification
