Doppelmayr USA, the world leader in ropeway transportation and ski lift manufacturing is seeking a Payroll Accountant to join our team in our Salt Lake City, Utah offices. The Payroll Specialist will oversee the organization’s payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. This is a full-time in office position, Monday through Friday.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Ensure proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other deductions.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Monitor and ensure various state payroll tax returns are filed for compliance.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Reconciliation of payroll entries to general ledger.
- Reconciliation of benefits deductions to invoices.
- Process and reconcile employee and employer HSA contributions.
- Process and reconcile employee and employer 401k contributions.
- Prepare and submit reports with payroll information to supervisor.
- Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.
- Administer and reconcile company personal time off policy.
- Administers employee reimbursement and expense reporting platforms, as well as credit card and fuel card programs.
- Manage and resolve issues relating to payroll processing.
- Interpret new legislation impacting payroll.
- Maintain and document all payroll records.
- Conduct audits of payroll accounts.
- Assist with the annual review of payroll policies and procedures to ensure they comply with applicable laws and best practice.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices.
- Strong knowledge of legislation and regulations of the field.
- Proficient in MS Office and good knowledge of relevant software and databases.
- Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience in the use of ADP Workforce Now
- Experience working with Concur Expense reporting
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Ability to act independently on assigned projects
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s various software and ERP systems
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
- Proven experience as a payroll specialist or similar role.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
