Fordham-Bedford Housing Corporation (FBHC), a community sponsored, non-profit organization, founded in 1980 was one of many community-led efforts that pioneered bringing government and private investment into formerly neglected housing in the Bronx. Using these early investments and the momentum from its successes, the company has continued to take on new buildings. It first gained expertise in management, then in renovating occupied apartments, and later it began building new apartment buildings in the neighborhood. Today a well-established, organization, FBHC has grown from managing 3 buildings to supervising the operation of more than 130 buildings with over 4000 affordable apartments throughout the Northwest Bronx and beyond.
Under the supervision of a Senior Property Manager the Property Management Associate will gain experience in all areas of affordable housing management. The position requires a highly motivated individual with good communications skills (written and verbal), strong ability to handle multiple functions in an accurate manner, and exceptional customer service skills. Associates will be trained in all areas of community sponsored, affordable housing Property Management.
Tasks include:
- Provides excellent customer services to tenants, vendors, and co-workers;
- Communicates via letters, emails, chat programs and telephone calls;
- Maintains calendars, schedules appointments;
- Respects and maintains privacy of tenants, assuring resident confidentiality at all times;
- Prepares spreadsheets, presentations, and contract documents as requested;
- Faxes, files, scans and makes copies;
- Supervises interns as needed:
- Relays work assignments to staff and vendors as determined by the Property Manager(s);
- Schedules meetings, keeps track of calendars and ongoing projects;
- Tracks and maintains building and resident files, resident charges, landlord/tenant, HP and other legal actions, as well as resident and vendor contact information, and other logs and records of tenant interactions;
- Administrative functions requested by management or required by specific contractual requirements
Pay and Benefits: $42,500 - $50,000 and is eligible for a benefits package after 90 days.
