Whether in a direct-care or support role, your contribution will make a difference in the life of a Texan.The Physician II provides medical care of the patients across the lifespan (children to geriatrics) at NTSH. The Physician II works under the clinical supervision of the Physician III and the administrative supervision of the General Medical Services (GMS) Program Supervisor V. The Physician II supervises, mentors and works in collaboration with Advanced Practice Registered Nurses assigned to GMS. The Physician II needs to have strong medical knowledge and can base decisions using data, evidence based research, and conduct business within their scope of practice while abiding by agency policies and procedures. The Physician II will be responsible for monitoring and reporting GMS activities to the Physician III at their request. The Physician II has no financial responsibility, but is accountable for assigned property. The Physician II will also see employees that have been injured while on duty. Knowledge Skills Abilities:1. Knowledge of medical methods, procedures, and trends; of the principles and practices in the development, implementation, and documentation of individualized care and treatment plans; of the principles of public health practices; and of disease management and risk analysis.2. Skill in the care and treatment of patients; in the use of medical diagnostic and treatment tools and equipment; in the use of a computer and applicable software; in developing, describing, and communicating medical or public health plans and procedures; in the project management, prioritization, and program evaluation; and in problem identification, analysis, and resolution.3. Ability to examine, diagnose, and treat physical and/or mental disorders; to interpret laboratory analyses and x-rays; to interact effectively and professionally with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, ethnic, and professional backgrounds, to communicate effectively; and to plan, assign, and/or supervise the work of others.
