ROCIMG is a small and growing business and we are seeking a Project Manager who can help us to grow. This Project Manager will excel by leading and coordinating a project team's overall performance, scope, cost, and deliverables. Our clients rely on timely and efficient status reports, and as Project Manager, you will drive the charge with project direction, metric definition, and performance management. As a Technical Project Manager, Data Analytics, you will lead, manage and support various technical and data analytics projects and programs for the company. The ideal candidate will have experience with diverse IT projects of both large (20+ people) and small (5 or less people) teams. Must be able to manage a portfolio of projects. Must be well versed in full systems development life cycle, and federal project management practices. Must be able to identify and mitigate risks to the program. Must be able to manage to cost, schedule and performance. This Technical Project Manager, Data Analytics will support and respond to requests by executive leadership.
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight and direct management of a technical team to meet schedules, orchestrate projects and generally lead all initiatives.
- Develop, review and/or analyze project management documents (project charter, organizational breakdown structure, work breakdown structure, program/project management plan, responsibilities matrix, etc.).
- Support program/project requirements through analysis of client strategy and needs documents, such as strategy, vision and scope documents and program road maps.
- Plan, monitor, and report on team accomplishments, progress and key milestones related to the project.
- Track and report project issues. Identify and mitigate risks and advise senior management about project opportunities and risks.
- Integrate and use project management methodologies (e.g., Agile scrum methodologies) as applicable to projects.
- Perform schedule and/or backlog development, maintenance, and revision/grooming.
- Plan, lead, and facilitate meetings and reviews (formal and informal).
- Support project requirements, scope, and change management issues.
- Coordinate and manage communication, documentation, presentations and processes in compliance with organization standards.
- Collaborate with the team to solve a wide range of emerging problems in creative and practical ways, using professional concepts.
- Work on diverse problems and perform analysis.
- Collects, cleans, and validates client data, e.g., financial, healthcare, from various sources, based on the client needs.
- Develops dashboards, reports, leveraging Excel, Power BI, or similar tools and applications.
- Achieve mission and business results for clients through smarter data analytics.
- Provide responsive support for emerging data analytics needs that originate from executive leadership from our clients. These data insights will help solve emergent challenges for our clients in response to changing strategies, laws, regulations and needs for reporting to internal and external entities.
- Identify key process improvements to help the team work more efficiently.
- Coordinate functional tasking of project team staff.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Systems, Business, or related scientific or technical discipline required. (4 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for degree.)
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience, with a background in technical program and/or project management. Experience in Data Analytics is a must.
- Excellent communication skills and problem-solving, with the ability to communicate clearly with all levels in an organization.
- Strong aptitude to learn and adapt to technology, as well as to diverse environments.
- Detail oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to lead and work collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Prefer project management professional certification (PMP).
- Strongly prefer previous experience supporting government organizations.
