As a Staff Accountant II you will be responsible for the functions outlined below:
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for demonstrating commitment to and leadership of environmental health and safety principles, policies and procedures.
- Perform daily banking functions as well as distribute the Daily Cash Position report.
- Maintain the Fixed Asset sub-ledger, including all additions and disposals as well as related Accumulated depreciation
- Reconcile Prepaids, Accrued Property tax, Sales & Use tax accounts, Accrued Utilities.
- Manage inventory cycle counts, adjustments and related reporting.
- Track and maintain all royalties due to external parties and prepare check requests for timely processing.
- Daily back up for Accounts Receivable Cash application duties and Accounts Payable duties.
- Assist with internal, external and bank audits.
- Support tax filings, related payment submissions, insurance renewals and insurance policy maintenance.
- Be a contributor to the company standards on high integrity, safety, fair and equitable treatment and a positive work environment
- Special projects as assigned by Controller, CFO or other members of management.
- Participates in the company’s efforts to continuously improve in Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery and Productivity.
- Expected to be a contributor to the company standards on high integrity, safety, fair and equitable treatment while creating a positive work environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with 2-4 years of experience or a combination of related experience, education and/or training to sufficiently and successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- ERP or other business systems experience.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees across numerous departments.
- Must be able to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Highly detail-oriented and organized.
- Knowledge of Cost Accounting, ideally from a manufacturing and/or product development industry.
- Understanding of accounting surrounding insurance and taxes is a plus.
- Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify and address problems, meet deadlines, and stay within budget.
- Highly Competent with computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite.
- CPA preferred, will consider candidates eligible or on track, to sit for CPA exam.
- Ability to understand and digest complex accounting concepts and put them into practice.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize and work with our Permission to Play Values
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting and bending throughout the work day.
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, to include working in and around machinery, exposure to noise and chemicals, lights/lasers, etc.
- Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment as required by your position and/or Company policy.
