General PurposeDirect safety and training policies, practices and compliance for Pacific Power. Manage unit’s operation, maintenance, general and administrative budget, which has a major impact on the business unit’s financial, engineering, operational, and organizational objectives. Establish strategic business objectives, strategies, and plans in support of company strategic goals. Manage and allocate financial and employee resources. Responsible for selecting, coaching, and developing employees and managing employee’s salaries. Implement and support company programs and policies.
Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with legislation and regulations related to health, training and safety issues through development and implementation of policies and programs within departmental budget.
- Set strategic requirements for all health, training and safety issues within the organization aligned with direction given by Berkshire Hathaway Energy.
- Audit and report on business policies and programs compliance.
- Provide support and subject-matter expertise to enable management to effectively administer policies and programs.
- Educate public on safe practices around electricity and company property.
- Communicate strategy, targets, and action plans.
- Direct occupational health efforts to improve health and well-being of the organization.
- Track, publish and analyze KPIs on health, safety and training performance to proactively address emergent issues.
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education & experience.
- A minimum of ten years of related safety and training experience.
- A minimum of five years of experience in people management.
- Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to establish objectives, set clear direction, multi-task and prioritize activities; financial planning; develop/execute policy; plan, direct/monitor resources; recommend & oversee development/implementation of systems, programs or processes.
- Leadership & teamwork skills to influence senior officers, peers and others on policy & strategic issues to achieve business results.
- Communication skills to create a vision, communicate strategy, targets & action plans; manage and motivate others; work effectively and confidentially with internal & external customers; work with all levels of an organization including people with different styles & background.
- Demonstrated involvement in managing health, and/or safety issues.
- Experience leading cultural change in an organization.
- Ability to monitor & analyze safety reports.
Preferences- Understanding of interdependence with other groups company-wide required to deliver the business results and skills within Pacific Power and across the Company to solve safety issues.
- Experience in utility health, safety and training regulatory compliance and management.
- Demonstrated understanding of operations.
- Advanced degree and training.

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 20% of salary.
