Job Purpose The purpose of this job is to engineer software solutions for improved efficiency and quality in the product development business processes. Create linkage via systems for new model requirements, issues and change requests to improve efficiency and data (Product Lifecycle Management, PLM)
Collaborate with Design and New Model user groups in entire North America operation, America Honda Motors-IT, New Model leadership, and other stakeholders as appropriate.
Key Accountabilities • Serve as the NA subject matter expert for the AHEAD and Girafe applications. Work with New Model teams, Sales Engineering Design B(purchasing) in entire NA operations, to gather requirements, engineer digital solutions and expand the usage. Create the engineering standards and confirm application plan of PLM apps to new user groups. Document use cases, support testing, rollout, training, and PDCA of new software releases.
• Work closely with key users and potential customers in entire NA operations to understand their needs and improvement ideas. Work with IT on documenting bugs and enhancements for future deployment. Track change points, test enhancements, and communicate important updates to users (via posts, training updates, etc.). Maintain system roadmap and reflect user feedback into semi-monthly PDCA releases and enhancement proposals.
• Collaborate with like teams in Japan GO operations on a regular basis. Support the gathering of business requirements to ensure North America and Japan user needs and best practices are considered when evaluating global direction. Work with other PLM members, HCL team, and IT as needed to ensure we are providing a unified user experience.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Minimum Educational Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in Engineering or equivalent related experience.
Minimum Experience: 5+ years of product design and development experience required specific to requirements, problem tracking, and countermeasure requests.
Other Job-Specific Skills: Experience with Enovia, Aras or other PLM tools .Expert knowledge of Honda design and development.
Working Conditions - 5 to 10 hours of OT per week; 0-5% Travel
- Hybrid office schedule with part time work onsite, optional work from home
- Occasional late evening or early morning MS Teams meetings with Japan team members
- This role requires that the candidate be able to drive and requires possession of a vaild driver's license.
