Starting Salary Range: $73,000 - $85,000 - depending on experience

General Position Summary:
Support development of energy conservation projects through on-site auditing, engineering analysis, understanding of energy/mechanical systems, and thorough communication and fact-finding. Conservation projects include all aspects of utility conservation: mechanical, electrical, lighting, power systems, controls and water conservation. Assist with development and implementation of design/build projects, including building modeling and recommendations for mechanical/energy system design.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Work directly with Energy Services team in the development, procurement and execution of conservation projects
2. Support the development of energy conservation project scope and proposal development
3. Support preliminary and detailed facility audits to identify conservation opportunities
4. Identify & recommend specific conservation measures for existing facilities
5. Apply building energy modeling programs to develop building load & energy models
6. Estimate and document energy & operational savings opportunities
7. Work with Project Managers & Estimating team to develop project cost estimates
8. Develop and document design concepts for project proposals
9. Work directly with project managers and measurement & verification specialists to confirm estimated energy savings requirements
10. Coordinate with utilities to obtain incentives & rebates
11. Identify project risks and work with project team members to mitigate
12. Maintain and control documents in compliance with UMC Standards as well as contractual compliance
13. Review contract drawings, detail drawings and specifications
14. Assist in proposal development, bid process and the procurement of new work
15. Provide proactive, clear and timely communication to team members
16. Develop and maintain client relations
17. Be professional and uphold UMC Core Values
18. Setup detailed energy models for new and existing facilities
19. Understand and apply Energy Codes
Secondary Job Functions:
1. Assist in development of project measurement & verification plans
2. Work with design/build engineering team to develop LEED certification through application of modeling programs

Education Requirements Needed to Perform the Essential Duties of the Job:
•A minimum of two years' experience as an energy engineer preferred
•Engineering degree desired (Mechanical or Electrical) or directly related to energy conservation and modeling preferred
•Certified Energy Manager (CEM) preferred
•LEED Certification preferred
Licensing or Other Special Certifications Required:
· Maintain a valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
