Shifts are Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
Purpose of Your Job Position
As a Health Care Nurse Tech I (CNA/STNA). you are entrusted with the responsibility of caring for our residents, families, co workers, visitors, and all others, as well as demonstrating compassion in all interactions. The primary purpose of your job position is to provide each of your assigned residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by your supervisors. You are entrusted to provide innovative, responsible healthcare with the creation and implementation of new ideas and concepts that continually improve systems and processes to achieve superior results.
Job Function
You are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. The Nurse Tech works under the direction of licensed personnel to provide quality resident care in accordance with applicable regulations. Supervises, none. This job description does not list all the duties of the job. You may be asked by the supervisors or mangers to perform other duties. Duties and Responsibilities
Report all complaints and grievances made by the resident. Participate in resident care assessments. Assist in development of resident treatment plans. Provide direct care in accordance with treatment plans, as directed by the Director of Clinical Services/Assistant Director of Clinical Services/Clinical Nurse. Demonstrate understanding of and utilize proper infection control practices/policies. Accompany residents, as needed, to various activities and functions. Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Participate in restorative nursing program. Maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment for residents. Act in compliance with all corporate, state, federal, and other regulatory standards. Notify the facility when you will be late or absent from work. Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals to your supervisor. Report known or suspected incidents of fraud to the Executive Director. Demonstrate respect and compassion in every interaction. Conduct oneself with the highest degree of honesty and integrity in every interaction. Demonstrate a passion for caring as evidenced by interactions with co-workers, residents, families, and visitors. Report injuries of an unknown source, including skin tears. Turn all medications found in the resident's room/possession over to the Clinical Nurse. Keep residents' water pitchers clean and filled with fresh water (on each shift), and within easy reach of the resident. Serve between meal and bedtime snacks. Perform after meal care (i.e., remove trays, clean resident's hands, face, clothing, take to bathroom, brush teeth, clean dentures, etc.). Check rooms for food articles (i.e., food in proper container, unauthorized food items, etc.). Attend and participate in scheduled training and educational classes to maintain current certification as a Nursing Technician. Attend and participate in scheduled orientation programs and activities. Attend and participate in facility in-service training programs as instructed. Participate in appropriate in-service training programs prior to performing tasks that involve potential exposure to blood body fluids. Wash hands before and after performing any service for the resident. Keep the nurses' call system within easy reach of the resident. Immediately notify the Clinical Nurse of any resident leaving/missing from the facility. Follow established safety precautions in the performance of all duties. Keep residents personal possessions off the floor and properly stored. Keep floors dry. Report spills immediately. keep excess supplies and equipment off the floor. Store in designated areas. Wash wheelchairs, walkers, etc., as instructed. Clean, disinfect. and return all resident care equipment to its designated storage area after each use. Report all hazardous conditions and equipment to the Clinical Nurse immediately. Report all safety violations. Follow established resident and non-resident smoking regulations. Report all violations. Follow established isolation precautions and procedures. Wash hands before entering and after leaving an isolation room/area. Follow established procedures in the use and disposal of personal protective equipment. Wear and/or use safety equipment and supplies (e.g., back brace, mechanical lifts, etc.) when lifting or moving residents. May be trained and assigned to perform the Customer Care Liaison duties as needed. Perform all other duties as assigned. Various shifts available.

GENERAL SUMMARY: Provide personal care to residents. Maintain resident units and work areas in a clean, safe and orderly manner. Assist residents in preventative, therapeutic and restorative nursing procedures. Provide maximum resident care services to give the highest level of care. Carry out assigned duties and responsibilities in compliance with facility policy and procedure. Adhere to safety and infection control policies and procedures. Must communicate effectively orally and in writing.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Basic understanding of personal care needs of long-term care residents. Knowledge of facility policy and procedures. Ability to effectively communicate with the elderly and disabled residents as well as coworkers, visitors, and supervisors. Able to maintain confidentiality of residents condition and affairs.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Satisfactory completion of a 75 hour state approved Nursing Assistant training program as evidenced by certification. Also requires 12 hours of in-services per year in order to remain certified. One-year experience as a nursing assistant with a satisfactory work record is preferable.
Other essential Job duties include:
Maintain resident's units and nursing work areas in a clean, orderly and safe manner. Make resident's bed daily and change bed linens on bath days and PRN. Assist and encourage residents to participate in preventative, therapeutic and restorative procedures. Duties include, but are not limited to: taking vital signs as directed by a supervisor to include temperature, pulse, respirations and blood pressure, keeping residents skin clean, dry and intact, and performing range of motion and/ or application of assistive devices or appliances. Adhere to safety and infection control policies and procedures according to universal precautions. Adhere to facility dress code and maintain good personal hygiene. Observe and report symptoms, reactions and any changes in resident's physical or mental status. Perform other tasks are requested by supervisor including assisting with new admissions. Respect and maintain patient's dignity, individuality, privacy and confidentiality. Be knowledgeable of Ohio House Bill 600, Resident's Rights. Assure compliance on a daily basis. Promote positive public relations for the facility. Maintain conscientious punctuality and attendance within the standards of the personnel policies.
