The Quality Assistant Coordinator/SQF Practitioner is responsible for leading the food safety and food quality efforts through successful completion of SQF, customer, state and federal regulatory audits and identity preserved audits (i.e., organic and kosher, etc.). The SQF Practitioner must contribute to the profitable growth of Crystal Creamery by ensuring that brands and products comply with food safety requirements, developing and maintaining quality policies and supporting continuous improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop and partner with Quality Managers and Director of Food Safety and Quality on the implementation of Safe Quality Food programs – including HACCP, Food Safety, Food Quality and Food Defense plans.
· Conduct food safety and quality training including Good Manufacturing Practices (for contractors, new hires, and current employees) and all other SQF required training.
· Conduct food safety and quality meetings, produce meeting notes, and follow up on action items to ensure completion.
· Support senior management and operations with technical quality and food safety data for customer requests and surveys.
· Company representative for FDA, USDA, CDFA and sanitation audits.
· Company representative for SQF, organic, kosher and customer audits.
· Conduct annual document review in preparation for annual SQF audit.
· Conduct mock recalls, FSMA and internal audits, including glass inspection.
· Collect, review, and ensure proper completion of audit paperwork.
· Lead and participate in problem solving activities concerning food safety.
· Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies (including GMP's) and standard working instructions.
· Responsible for SQF readiness, Co Packer, and Supplier quality communication.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor of Science in Dairy Science or a related area.
· Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a Quality Assurance leadership role. Must have an understanding of the dairy industry.
· Experience developing and maintaining quality assurance and quality control programs.
· Experience managing regulatory compliance, experience researching regulatory requirements for FDA, USDA and CDFA
· Skilled in computer work involving Microsoft Office
· Experience working with production, warehousing, maintenance, sanitation, administration safety or transportation units within dairy industry.
· Experience with customers and consumers involving any complaint and concern resolutions.
· Ability to educate team through incumbents' knowledge of the dairy industry and ability to communicate information about food safety and quality to all parties including internal and external parties.
· Experience with HACCP, SQF, and HARPC required.
· Experience with SAP and WMS preferred.
