Who We are:
For over 40 years, Life Enrichment Advancing People (LEAP) has been supporting people with developmental, cognitive, and intellectual disabilities to be actively involved in their communities. To this end we provide small group and individualized residential services, adult case management and training services. LEAP is a private nonprofit organization with a mission to empower people with disabilities to lead joyful lives with dignity, independence, and autonomy by providing comprehensive and individualized support. Our fundamental operating principle is to strive for each supported individual's fulfillment of physical wellbeing, self-expression, and experiences of joy.
Requirements:
1. Screen and evaluate new referrals for LEAP's Programs
2. Provide and coordinate staffing for direct support services to an individual in their home. Although a salaried position, this role does include direct care shifts, as well.
3. Provide and coordinate habilitation & health related programs to person served.
4. Assist person served to exercise their rights as an individual.
5. Support individual to gain community resources, access & membership.
6. Provide and coordinate social & community engagement.
7. Ensure development and maintenance of appropriate and adequate records, consistent with applicable DHHS Assisted Living/MaineCare Rules and Regulations.
8. Cooperatively with Executive Director, Residential Services Director and support staff promotes safety awareness and maintains operating practices that are consistent with safety standards.
9. Complete other duties that result in high-quality supports as may be deemed appropriate by the individual's teams and/or the best practices of LEAP.
10. Continue to maintain all certifications required of position.
11. Provide Mon-Fri on-call coverage for the residence and rotating agency on-call coverage as assigned.
12. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to ensure quality services are provided.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Related bachelor's degree OR/ Equivalent Level of Training, Professional and Supervisory Experience
At least two years of service as a Direct Support Professional
Valid Maine Driver's License with record that meets LEAP's Driving Policy Guidelines
Experience in IDD and mental health settings are a plus!
Certifications preferred: DSP, CRMA and Mandt. If these certificates are expired or applicant does not currently have them, LEAP will provide the training.
Compensation details: 6 Yearly Salary
