Job Summary
Inspect septic systems, commercial and residential buildings during various stages of construction and remodeling to ensure compliance with applicable codes, ordinances and regulations. Examine plans and specifications of OWTS, new construction, additions and alterations to residential and commercial buildings to determine compliance with the provisions of Gunnison County. Respond to citizen complaints and concerns; serve due process letters to violators as necessary. Confer with architects, contractors, builders and the general public in the field and office; explain and interpret building requirements and restrictions. Attend and participate in meetings and online and live trainings to stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of building inspection, plans examination and OWTS.
Pay Rate
*The County pays monthly on the last week day of the month.*
Building & Environmental Health Inspector monthly pay range from $5,263 to $7,445 depending on experience, plus full benefits.

Requirements:
ICC Residential within one year of hire and Commercial Inspector certification within the subsequent year
Must possess a valid Colorado driver's license.
Must complete ICS 100 and ICS 200 within the first year of employment.
