Real Estate Title Attorney
Seeking a Licensed Maine Attorney for an in-house position in a multi-state Real Estate Closing Company in South Portland, Maine. Preferred Attorney will have 2+ years experience in residential real estate conveyancing. Licensure in NH is a plus but not required.
Must be:
Organized; detail oriented; able to multi-task; and able to manage time effectively;
Able to communicate effectively with excellent verbal and written skills;
Able to collaborate with other team members and attorneys;
Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast paced environment;
Able to work with other team members, customers, real estate agents, title insurance underwriters, and lenders utilizing excellent inter-personal skills.
Typical work duties include but are not limited to:
Reviewing and examining title abstracts and surveys, to determine clear and marketable title, what task will need to be completed for a closing
Preparing standard documents such as affidavits, easements and deeds, as needed, for the closing.
Creating title commitments based on statute and title standards for the State
Timely answer questions of customers and other team members;
General duties that are routine and typical for a real estate conveyance.
Occasionally you may be asked to attend a closing during busy closing days.
Providing legal advice, opinion, expertise and direction to the company and handling of legal matters when needed
Knowledge of standard computer programs for an office, including MS Word, Adobe PDFs, and email. Knowledge of Closing Vue/E-Closing is also a plus but not required.
