About the Role & TeamThe Casting Director role within Disney Live Entertainment provides client service in the areas of auditions, evaluations, identification, contracting, scheduling and tracking talent while also communicating with both theatrical agents/producers, operational partners and talent to provide excellent Cast and Guest satisfaction and client service. The scope for the team includes the identification of a variety of performers which includes singers, dancers, actors, stunt performers, puppeteers, specialty performers, musicians, character performers (which include sculpted and look alike roles), Parade performers and stilt walkers.
This position will report to the Manager of Talent Casting & Booking Operations
This is a Casual Temporary or Seasonal role with no guarantee of weekly working hours, as hours will fluctuate based on business needs.
What You Will Do- Lead the audition process for new and ongoing shows, which includes meeting with creative teams to establish casting goals and timelines, determine audition dates, manage advertising campaigns, review electronic submissions, manage audition appointments, run the audition, and lead casting sessions.
- Communicate with Agents and Talent Managers through the entire submission, audition and offer process.
- Represent and communicate operational needs throughout the entire casting process.
- Provide clear updates, recommendations, and partnership to creative teams through the offer and onboarding process.
- Research and determine talent options for a variety of special events, present appropriate options to the creative team.
- Provide consistent, and professional communication with talent and work teams through phone work and email, and build/maintain/present ongoing reporting data related to metrics.
- Monitor industry trends locally, nationally, and internationally to provide/maintain outstanding entertainment standards.
- The Casting Director is an essential strategic champion for work in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and must be emphatically supportive of our Inclusion key.
- Candidate must stay up-to-speed on currently running Disney Live Entertainment offerings.
- Participate in projects at Disneyland Resort, or any of the other global Parks and Resorts (including Disney Cruise Line).
- Must be a strong and effective team player and leader, and trusted representative for Disney Live Entertainment and the Talent Casting team.
Required Qualifications & Skills- 3+ years' experience in the Casting of professional talent.
- Experience identifying and assessing technical vocal production skills.
- Experience in vocal performance, vocal pedagogy, or vocal education.
- Computer proficiency within a Windows environment.
- Strong Client /Guest Service skills and partnering skills.
- Verbal and written communication skills, as well as telephone etiquette skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong negotiation, influencing, decision-making and networking skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information and solve complex problems.
- Ability to travel and be flexible with work schedule, including weekends, evenings and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications- 3+ years’ experience of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts entertainment experience.
- Experience identifying and assessing technical acting and dancing skills.
- Experience with, and understanding of multiple Collective Bargaining Agreements including American Federation of Musicians, Actors' Equity Association, American Guild of Variety Artists and others.
- Ability to share new and creative ideas in a collaborative way.
- Strong knowledge/background in music and theater.
EducationHigh School diploma or equivalent experience. Bachelor's degree in an Arts/Entertainment/Music field preferred.

The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA is $33.65 to $45.10 per hour based on a 24 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
