Small,fast growing manufacturing company in Baton Rouge, Louisiana is seeking a highly skilled and motivated CPA to join its team. This is a full-time position and is a great opportunity for someone seeking flexible work hours which may vary from 35-40 hours per week. This is a full-time position with a competitive compensation and benefits package. Compensation - commensurate with experience.
This position reports directly to the company controller and will collaborate with all departments. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, general ledger and analytical skills, a keen eye for detail and strong reconciliation skills. Experience in cost accounting in manufacturing and/or job shop in either industry or an auditing environment is a plus. Experience in software conversions and/or knowledge of ERP systems is preferred.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Posting adjusting journal entries and support the month end close
Maintaining depreciation and amortization schedules
Maintain schedules for certain balance sheet accounts
Analytical review of the general ledger including trend analysis
Work with project managers to determine estimates to complete on projects/jobs
Assist in developing and maintaining budgets
Collaborate with all departments in both providing and gathering information to support organization needs
Identify opportunities for process improvement
Become familiar with and learn to apply the regulations of the Federal Acquisition Regulations System and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation System
CPA or CPA-inactive status
Experience in either cost accounting or auditing projects and/or manufacturing is a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products-strong excel skills a must
