Opportunity description:
Health System seeks an addiction medicine specialist certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine or the American Board of Addiction Medicine to provide care as part of a multidisciplinary team in a longstanding, established outpatient clinic setting at the Center for Addictions.

- Ability to acquire SAMHSA waiver for prescribing buprenorphine to patients with opioid dependence is required
- Experience in a hospital setting treating patients with alcohol withdrawal and familiarity with alcohol withdrawal protocols is preferred
Duties include:
- Conducting history and physical assessments on all assigned patients
- Providing routine medical care and supervision of patients including medication management
- Providing one hour of group education weekly to patients enrolled in the partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs
- Attending weekly clinical staffing with treatment team
- Providing consultative services to other physicians in the hospital setting whose admitted patients present with substance abuse or withdrawal issues
- Working in tandem with medical director of the Center for Addictions to assure coverage of all patients
