Clinical Details:
- Rotating 4 central PA hospital emergency departments:
- Harrisburg Hospital urban setting with 61,000 visits per year, 52-Bed Emergency Department
- Community General Hospital community setting with 31,000 visits per year, 21 bed Emergency Department
- West Shore Hospital community setting with 27,000 visits per year, 28 bed Emergency Department
- Carlisle Hospital community setting with 27,000 visits per year, 27 bed Emergency Department
- Staffed by a strong, experienced APP team
- EPIC EMR system-wide
Professional Skills:
- Graduate of an approved physician assistant / nurse practitioner program
- Must have ACLS and PALS certifications
- Commitment to teamwork, providing high-quality, compassionate care and delivering exceptional clinical outcomes

- New graduates or those new to emergency medicine will be placed into APEP:EM which is a structured educational postgraduate transition to top of license practice program for Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
Goals of APEP Program: To provide consistent, evidence based, and structured education on specialty specific; typical and atypical patient presentations. The focus will be on appropriate management, intervention, and the disposition of the Emergency Department Patient
Program Structure: The 12-month program will follow the NCCPA content blueprint which includes cardiovascular, dermatologic, endocrine, eyes, ears, nose, throat, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, hematologic, musculoskeletal, neurologic, psycho-behavioral, pulmonary, renal, reproductive, environmental, infectious disease, toxicology, trauma, procedures, and other skills.
