Job Purpose Working with the Plant (aka Genpo) Manufacturing Equipment Services Department (MESD) leadership team, identify chronic or critical equipment or process downtime items. Lead priority trouble items to develop root cause analysis with
countermeasure and recurrence prevention actions. Share within the ERS team for horizontal reflection. Provide input and technical application support towards improved standardization of regional production systems. Provide emergency technical support for complex problem analysis and countermeasure as required. Assist Manufacturing Characteristics and Standards (MCS) and Equipment Production (EPD) associates by providing feedback/support on equipment related trouble due to spec, design, and install. Work with EPD associates to coordinate assembly and install of countermeasure activity. Based on Genpo results, identify concerns and provide potential countermeasures to improve reliability centered spec, design, and installation activity. Develop improvement themes working within the ERS team for North American regional improvement.
Key Accountabilities - Support in the identification of chronic downtime root cause and recommend countermeasure in specialized area. Communicate issues to ERS Stability leadership for regional distribution.
- Analyze current manufacturing characteristics and summarize results in comparison to achievement of equipment or process related Genpo targets.
- Collaborate with D-Leadership and identify areas for focused activity.
- Provide input for improved reliability for new Equipment specification requirements based on current struggle items.
- Attend North American Regional ERS meetings and document results for Senior Management to create improvements to Genpo characteristic improvements.
- Support preparation of quarterly and monthly reports of results to gage results and execute POCA.
- Conduct Key Performance Indicator gap analysis and countermeasure activity development.
- Support new technology introduction as needed.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Education
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (concentration in Manufacturing a plus)
Required Experience
- 2-8 years of electrical engineering work experience in Manufacturing (focus in Automotive category like Welding, Assembly, Paint, Stamping or Plastics a plus)
Desired Skills
- Understanding of automated equipment electrical hardware/software design including knowledge of machine safety controls, servo position control, field I/0 networking, PLC, and HMI Application of engineering and manufacturing principles
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills to communicate effectively with customers and internal project team
- Understanding of automotive manufacturing processes. (i.e. Assembly, Paint, Welding, Stamping)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic 2D and 3D CAD tools
- Business acumen in a technical environment
- Project leadership capabilities
