Requirements: Active California Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (CA APRN) license A minimum of two (2) years of experience in primary care (adult) as a Nurse Practitioner and within the last three years. NP residents should be recent graduates, completing their accredited Masters or DNP program no more than twenty (24) months prior Must be credentialed or license/credential-eligible as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) or Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP-C) Specialty Services: In addition to the above requirements, NPs who are requested to work in specialized areas such as Emergency Medicine, Surgery, etc., must also have at least two years (2) years of experience within the last 3 years providing patient care within that setting and possess any required certificates. Obstetrics/Gynecology: NPs who will be staffed at female institutions/facilities must possess a minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last five (5) years providing obstetric and gynecological nursing or patient care services in a healthcare setting. Clinical competencies must be up-to-date and validated for the specific area in which the NP will be assigned.
Responsibilities: Under the guidance of the Institution/Facility CEO/CME or their designee, the NP will deliver services within the scope of practice for NP services, adhering to Institution/Facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Standards of Obligation: Provide high-quality services, consistent and in alignment with established and widely accepted standards and principles of medical practice. This Agreement does not override the common law rules governing the interpretation of established and widely accepted standards and principles of medical practice. Treatment Authorization: Except for emergency and primary care services, NP must obtain prior written authorization from the respective Institution/Facility CEO/CME or designee, as per the Utilization Management Plan. All necessary forms related to the treatment of patients/youth must be completed and submitted. Authorization for essential services must be documented in the patient/youth medical record before considering non-emergency specialty treatment, consultations, or diagnostic procedures not specified in a prior authorization form. Transportation/Transfer Authorization: NPs are not permitted to transfer a patient/youth to any Institution/Facility without prior written authorization from the appropriate Ins
