Position Overview
GSG is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer/Scientist in our Schaumburg location. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual who is a front-line, client-focused leader.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
Providing technical direction on site investigation, remediation, environmental compliance, and waste management projects in Illinois.
Working with clients to fully understand project and client needs and managing teams to deliver services meeting those requirements. Project scopes include Illinois SRP, Phase I and Phase II ESAs, Environmental Compliance, and Environmental Permitting.
Networking with clients to identify and define projects, develop proposals, and maintain quality and risk management processes to keep projects on track.
Ensuring deliverables are met according to scope, schedule, and budget.
Qualifications
B.S. in Environmental Science, Geology, Civil/Environmental Engineering, or related Earth Sciences.
Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) licensed in the state of Illinois.
8+ years of environmental consulting or related experience.
Diverse technical experience including but not limited to Illinois SRP, Phase I and Phase II ESAs, Environmental Compliance, and Environmental Permitting.
Demonstrated ability to lead project teams.
Must possess strong analytical, organizational, client management, and verbal and written communication skills.
Strong entrepreneurial interest and experience engaging clients to identify and win new projects. Previous private or public sector business development success and experience is a plus.
Willingness and ability to train junior staff with respect to technical requirements, regulatory programs, writing skills, and communication skills.
Familiarity with GIS software such as ArcGIS and AutoCAD.
