As the Air Dominance Simulation Cross Product Lead (Senior Principal Systems Engineer - P5), you will participate in multi-disciplinary work across integrated product teams consisting of Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC), Signal Processing (SP) and missile-and-sensor-level Performance Simulations for your program. Our Performance Simulation teams provide, develop, and maintain high fidelity performance simulations, evaluate system performance, support new business initiatives and develop & implement technology roadmaps.
This is an Onsite role in Tucson, Arizona
What You will Do:
- You will work with Chief Engineers and Program Managers as the primary Point of Contact and Subject Matter Expert for your products.
- You will work with functional and program stakeholders to ensure efforts are properly staffed with the expertise required to meet cost and schedule expectations.
- You will collaborate with Digital Technology and Information Technology to meet the digital infrastructure needs for simulation and performance analysis.
- You will improve collaboration between simulation teams and ensure decisions support a common Simulation Roadmap, Common Simulation Framework, and standard processes.
- You will support Earned Value Management System (EVMS) analysis and presentations as well as Basis of Estimate Authoring.
- You will ensure all GNC and SP algorithms, and simulation scope is performed with a cohesive technical approach compliant to our extensive implementation practices.
- You will work in a team environment, receiving inputs from the team supervisors and providing guidance and/or direction to other team members
- You will collaborate with Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC), Signal Processing, and other performance personnel to perform simulation activities according to the program schedule
- You will provide technical expertise for the simulation products of a specific program, and assist Senior Modeling Engineers in the preparation of detailed plans, and may interact with government counterparts as an authority on simulation products
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree and ten (10) years or more of documented work and/or academic experience in the following areas:
- Experience in Air Dominance Simulations
- Experience implementing the Raytheon Model Description and Report (MDR) Protocol
- Experience programming in C++, C, or other high order language
- Experience using MATLAB or Python for evaluation of data sets
- Experience developing or simulating physical systems
- Experience managing a team of Engineers and interacting with other engineering disciplines
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related STEM degree
- Experience managing others using applied system engineering principals and interfacing with multiple engineering disciplines
- Experience with Bayesian Analysis
- Experience with Control Hardware Design and Test
- Experience modeling physics and physical systems as related to flight dynamics
- Experience using Software Configuration Management software
- Course work or experience in some of the following fields: radar, signal & image processing, digital communications, probability and statistics, linear algebra, estimation theory, optimal control, system architecture, inertial navigation, or guidance
- Experience with radar and/or EO/IR environment models
- Experience using UNIX/Linux based workstations
- Experience with hardware/software integration
- Experience developing and presenting technical briefings

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
