Job Description
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a Technologist to support the Security Engineering team. The Technologist supports the Security department through execution of preventive and corrective maintenance of site security systems such as lift gate barriers, fencing, intrusion detection systems, closed circuit camera systems, and access controls. The successful candidate will ensure engineered security systems at the Knolls and Kesselring sites are operational, properly maintained, and that high priority security system issues are expeditiously addressed, should they arise.
Additional responsibilities include:
Security system obsolescence management and upgrades
Troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment.
Access control and assessment systems programming.
Service Contract Work Administrator qualification and subcontractor service and contract coordination.
Electrical safety and lock out tag out (LOTO) qualification.
Periodic 24/7 backshift coverage to support problem resolution at both Kesselring and Knolls sites.
Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill
High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a technical, engineering or science related field and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a technical, engineering or science related field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Mechanical skills (e.g., motor/mechanical system operation).
Excellent interpersonal and teaming skills.

Pay Range
$76,400.00 - $117,000.00 annually

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
