Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Speech Pathologist and/or Speech Pathology Assistant to join our team. As a Speech Pathologist, you will be responsible for the diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders. As a Speech Pathology Assistant, you will be responsible for treatment of communication and swallowing disorders. Your role will involve working with elementary age children to help them improve their communication skills, including speech, language, and voice.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients to identify communication and swallowing disorders, including speech, language, and voice difficulties. (SLP)
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address specific communication and swallowing needs, incorporating evidence-based practices and strategies. (SLP)
- Utilize various therapeutic techniques, such as speech therapy, to help patients improve their communication skills and overcome swallowing challenges. (SLP/SLPA)
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists, and physical therapists, to ensure comprehensive care. (SLP/SLPA)
- Document patient progress, communicate with families and caregivers, and maintain accurate records of treatment plans and outcomes. (SLP/SLPA)
- Stay current with the latest research and best practices in speech pathology, attending professional conferences and workshops as needed. (SLP/SLPA)
Qualifications:
- Master's or doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field. (SLP)
-Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLPA)
- Certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Certified Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP).
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology, with a focus on the communication and swallowing systems.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and experience working in an acute care setting.
- Ability to work effectively with patients of all ages, including those with pediatrics or geriatric needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple patients and projects simultaneously.
