Position Summary
The EHS / ESG will help the company maintain a leading edge in the formulation, delivery, and communication of our sustainability strategy. The Engineer will work with leadership to identify, manage, and respond to stakeholder expectations for operating a responsible and sustainable business.
The Engineer will partner with the plant's leadership team and safety committees in working towards maximizing employee productivity, improving health and safety so that regulatory compliance is achieved and maintained. Will also oversee incident investigations to include proper investigation techniques and ensure corrective actions are identified, to prevent a reoccurrence of the same accidents and provide for a safe workplace.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
- Partner with local management to complete accident investigations and prepare serious incident reports correctly.
- implement corporate driven safety programs that reduce the injury rate across all Arrow sites.
- Serve as the gatekeeper for healthcare services, including treatment for worker illness and injuries.
- Advances Human Performance mindset by driving improvements in site safety culture and facilitating risk reduction projects.
- Implement corporate facility safety and health technical standards to be followed by the plant personnel in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
- Interacts with OSHA/EPA regarding formal complaints and inspections. Manage all activities related to outside governmental agencies and Non-Governmental Organizations
- Monitor sustainability trends and assess the implications for Arrow International
- Organize and manage Sustainability and ESG materiality assessments and stakeholder engagement reviews.
- Review peer disclosures and provide recommendations on how to enhance Arrow International Energy's sustainability and ESG communications.
- Review requirements for and complete ESG submissions
- Write, edit, and produce Q&A documents, talking points, presentations, and other materials to support the Senior Leadership Team and Board
- Work with global offices to actively promote social investment initiatives, such as capacity building programs, charitable donations, environmental programs, sponsorships, and others
- Handle other projects, duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
Experience and Education
- Bachelor's Degree in safety or related field and/or a minimum of 5 years' experience in an EH&S role and a minimum of 1 year experience in ESG.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations is required, including claims handling regulations, accident investigation, and insurance policies.
- Must be comfortable to work in a high pressure, urgency driven environment.
- A minimum of 5-year experience creating PowerPoints and presentations for senior teams
- Strong skills in data analysis and computer skills.
- Knowledge of initiatives such as the Task Force on Climate-Related Disclosures, Sustainable Development Goals, and the Value Reporting Foundation
