As we continue to grow and evolve, we are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance team. Someone that works well in a changing environment, would like to help improve processes, and make an impact.
Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for supporting the accounting operations of the company by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with internal and external accounting standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Apply US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to help maintain the general accounting system and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Utilize their understanding of GAAP to prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Draft financial statement footnotes.
Focus on inventory tracking, valuation, and analysis.
Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
Prepare and submit various financial reports in compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
Conduct variance analysis and report findings to management.
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
Assist in annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting activities.
Monitor and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support overall company objectives and initiatives.
Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function.
Work closely with Controller on ad hoc projects, including implementation of processes and systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in manufacturing and accounting software (preferably Sage 100, ExStar, Microsoft Office, Board).
Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing setting.
Familiarity with ERP systems.
CPA License
