Our well-established, 20-attorney, AV-rated law firm is seeking an attorney licensed in North Carolina with expertise in transactional law (M&A and entity formation and reorganization) with 5+ years of experience. Related experience in commercial real estate and knowledge of transactional tax law is ideal. This is a lateral position in which the candidate must be capable of managing large transactions without requiring oversight; therefore, additional experience beyond the minimum stated is preferred.
It is anticipated that the candidate will work in conjunction with attorneys in both our New Bern and Raleigh offices, serving our existing client base, which is located throughout eastern North Carolina, the Triangle area and beyond, as well as new clients.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Direct, hands-on client interaction
Managing client expectations
Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating sale/purchase agreements and ancillary documents
Advising clients on transactional or corporate legal matters
Delegating tasks to staff and other attorneys, as necessary
Ensure compliance with all legal standards, applicable laws, regulations and company policies across areas of organizational responsibility
Maintaining accurate timekeeping and prompt billing practices
Required Qualifications:
Licensed to practice law in North Carolina
At least five (5) years' experience in transactional law
Excellent writing and communication skills
Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task, prioritize projects and project needs
Detail-oriented
A mobile book of business is preferred, but not mandatory. Compensation package is based on experience and related factors and includes competitive benefits. Our Firm has offices in Raleigh, New Bern and Morehead City; the candidate will work primarily in the New Bern office. All inquiries will be kept confidential.
