Since 1994, SPORTIME has been proud to operate the finest tennis and sports facilities in New York State. SPORTIME has 15 facility locations, most recently adding the iconic Port Washington Tennis Academy, now SPORTIME Port Washington, the largest indoor racket sports facility on Long Island. SPORTIME currently offers 194 indoor and outdoor tennis courts and 70 pickleball courts, as well as rinks, turf, camps, gyms and more, at sites across Long Island, in NYC, in Westchester and in the NY Capital Region. SPORTIME clubs are state-of-the-art, yet affordable, and feature the best tennis, sports and fitness facilities and programs, including the John McEnroe Tennis Academy and SPORTIME Volleyball Club). SPORTIME clubs serve individuals of every age and athletic ability, 365 days a year.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attendance is an essential responsibility
Coach and communicate with players and their parents between ages 5-10
Supervise U10 programs
Promote and organize World Tour Events
Oversee U10 equipment
Ensure the quality of Community Programs that fall into U10 age range
Prepare, organize and send Mission Cards, which are progress reports for parents
Attend and participate in all related meetings and trainings.
Establish and maintain 5 star rapport with all members and guests
Promote and sell all aspects of the club and Sportime programs
Service, assimilate and cater to the needs of new and existing junior
Provide weekly and monthly reports as required
Participate in telephone program retention campaigns
Develop and maintain cooperative work relationships with others
Train all camp staff including specialists, counselors and junior counselors on standard operating procedures, during orientation sessions
Evaluate all camp applications and placing campers in appropriate groups
Supervise all staff on a daily basis to ensure that all campers are properly supervised
Coordinate all lunch and transportation issues (if necessary)
Inform club staff of all camp activities- group lists, schedules, etc.
Create daily scheduling grids along with counselors to ensure variety for all groups and proper use of activity spaces based upon club space constrictions.
Ensure all activity sessions are on schedule and that campers are moving safely from activity to activity.
Communicate with camp parents regarding their children's progress, health, behavior, etc.
Communicate with SPORTIME Club Managers regarding the progress of camp, staff, activities, enrollment numbers, etc.
Provide SPORTIME Club Managers with post-camp evaluations in order to make improvements for future summers
To understand and abide by the given operating budget in order to ensure that the program is efficient and profitable
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
2+ years proven experience of working with U10 players
Understanding of kids' psychology is a big plus
Demonstrate substantial knowledge of tennis and capability to coach and play
Demonstrate knowledge of SPORTIME programs and services
Excellent guest service skills
Some computer skills (Outlook, Excel), a plus
Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
Being aware of other's reactions and understanding why they react as they do
Ability to effect change in others
Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing and verbally so others will understand
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to multi-task
Ability to keep information confidential
Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time.
Ability to make decisions and solve problems (analyze info and evaluating results to the best solution and solve problems.
SALARY: $30K annual base salary (approx. 25 hours/wk of office administration) plus
on-court earnings. BENEFITS:

Health, dental and vision insurance - Full-Time employees are eligible to enroll in Sportime's group health, dental and vision insurance plans on the first day of the month after they have worked 60 days. Premiums are deducted pre-tax from employees' gross pay; Sportime contributes to the premiums of employees based upon gross pay thresholds.
401k Plan with employer match - Employees are eligible to enroll in Sportime's 401k retirement plan, with matching, after they have completed one year of continuous service, worked at least 1000 hours in such calendar or anniversary year, and are over 21 years old (matching restrictions apply based on annual salary).
