Position Overview:
Operate and maintain waste-water system. Monitor washer and maintain chemical levels in washer and monitor DI systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Secure and maintain physical water treatment license.
- Perform chemical analysis on the various sampling from the washer stages, record results.
- Scrape sludge from filter press.
- Use sulfuric acid, lime, and chemicals to treat wastewater from washers.
- Clear jams in the washers.
- Add lime to the mix tank to make lime slurry.
- Obtain water samples from the various stages of the washers.
- Use measurement gauges to test for the PH of the water titration.
- Maintain chemical controls and make mechanical adjustments to the washers.
- Perform quality checks for firm weight.
- Troubleshoot based on the results obtained from various process checks.
- Operate forklift to perform various job duties.
- Maintain housekeeping at washer and wastewater areas.
- Record all checks on check sheets.
- Visually inspect cans.
- Maintain drying oven and adjust for proper wash stage temperatures.
- Record temperature checks for the first two stages of the washers.
- Visually check washer screens.
- Dump bins of scrap cans at the washers.
- Minimum Requirements
- Obtain a training wastewater license and a D level license within 2 years.
- Competencies
- Strong computer skills and working knowledge of various Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.).

- While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or craw.
- Lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Working Conditions
- Generally, works in a plant environment but will be required to perform some job duties inside a typical office setting.
- While performing duties, there will be exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic.
- Noise level is frequently loud.
