3rd Shift (10pm - 8am) Must have adequate skills of Garage Mechanic plus maintains on and off-road equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments; keeping records. Under direction, repairs, services, and performs major and minor repairs to Mountaire automobiles, trucks, farm equipment, tractors, forklifts and other power-driven equipment. This is the full journey level class within the Fleet Mechanic series. This class is distinguished from the General Mechanic by the assignment of the full range of duties assigned and the ability to work in the absence of supervision on an on-call basis. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies within the work unit. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement. Duties/Activities Required by Job - Diagnostics of defective equipment - Routine servicing and overhauling of all diesel engines, inspect the engines and detecting malfunctions. - Major engine repair. Replacing parts and reassembling the same - Adhering to all stipulated industry safety regulations and standards of working, ensure the proper handling of all testing and repair tools. - Maintaining records of service in Fleet Maintenance system Educations/Experience Requirements - Bachelors Degree or Associates Degree in electrical, mechanical, automotive engineering or a related field from an accredited institution - 1 to 3 years - Industry Certifications; Mechanical / Welding/Electrical - Must possess a valid drivers license
