Purpose of the Position: Under supervision from an Occupational Therapist (OTR/L), the Occupational Therapy Assistant will provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to designated students accordingly to provide quality, discipline-specific treatment for children with emotional disturbance, developmental delays, cognitive delays, intellectual disabilities, other disabilities, autism spectrum disorders (ASD), and other health impairments

Salary Range: $50,000 - $67,000/year

Position Responsibilities and Duties:- May participate in the assessment of fine motor, perceptual motor, sensorimotor & oral motor function.
- Determines therapeutic goals in conjunction with the occupational therapist.
- Participates in IEP meetings as assigned.
- Utilizes a collaborative, team approach in working with therapists, teachers, parents, and classroom team members.
- Adheres to company rules and regulations related to work hours and student schedules.
- Provides intervention services to students to meet goals, as established through the IEP.
- Consults, instructs, and assists classroom team members regarding positioning and handling, curricular access strategies, and the utilization of intervention programs under your supervisors directive.
- Assists in administrative duties.
- Assists in determining and meeting students adaptive equipment needs.
- Flexible and an ability to work through challenging behaviors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Skills or Qualifications:- Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant Certification from the California Board of Occupational Therapy (CBOT)
- Experience working in a school or treatment setting for students with learning and/or social and emotional problems.
- DOJ/FBI Live Scan Background & TB Clearance
- Pro-Act, CPI and/or CPR certification helpful
- Working knowledge of standard business practices and procedures
- Computer-literate; knowledge of standard company software applications, internet
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Excellent written documentation skills
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks
- Problem-solving ability and proven accuracy with detailed information
- Proficient written and verbal English language communication skills, including business writing and professional telephone manner
