We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacy Director to oversee our Pharmacy Operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for delivering exceptional customer service experiences, and a proven track record in managing pharmacy day to day operations.
General Summary:
The Pharmacy Director oversees the daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications, compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, and the provision of excellent patient care. The PIC manages and develops pharmacy staff, maintains inventory, and fosters a positive and productive culture based in the Kessler's Core Values.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure the pharmacy operates in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Maintain accurate and complete records of all controlled substances.
Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Dispensing Medications:
Oversee the accurate and safe dispensing of prescriptions.
Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness.
Counsel patients on the proper use of medications, potential side effects, and storage requirements.
Staff Management:
Recruit, train, develop, and supervise pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff.
Schedule staff shifts and ensure adequate coverage at all times.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and training.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock of medications and supplies.
Order medications and supplies as needed, and manage inventory to minimize waste and expiration.
Conduct scheduled inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
Customer Service:
Provide exceptional patient care and address patient inquiries and concerns.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
Operational Management:
Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve pharmacy operations.
Ensure the pharmacy is clean, organized, and well-maintained.
Monitor and manage the pharmacy budget and financial performance.
Clinical Services:
Provide clinical services such as immunizations, health screenings, and medication therapy management.
Stay current with new medications, therapies, and best practices in pharmacy care.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
Licensure: Valid pharmacist license in the state of practice.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a pharmacy setting.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical laws, regulations, and best practices.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Proficiency with pharmacy software and technology.
Working Conditions:
Retail setting.
Requires rotating evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Will involve standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of supplies.
