DUTIES:
Meet with and interview clients to gather information for preparing tax returns.
Using Lacerte tax preparation software, prepare tax returns based upon the information obtained. Preparation and review of tax returns including state and federal individual, partnership, corporation and S corporation returns. Prepare other types of returns when necessary.
Meet with clients for tax planning needs outside of tax season. Prepare various tax planning scenarios based on assumptions.
Research tax matters and tax planning opportunities throughout the year.
Review monthly and/or quarterly financial statements.
Review bookkeeping issues with clients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required and EA or CPA certification preferred.
Minimum of 4 years of experience preparing individual, partnership, corporation and S corporation tax returns.
Experience with Windows based systems, tax preparation software, QuickBooks, and Excel required.
Detailed knowledge and understanding of individual and business taxation, federal and state tax laws.
Knowledge in tax planning.
Highly motivated individual.
Must be able to work independently and as a team.
