Description
Outstanding Opportunities for Pediatric Emergency Medicine Specialists and Pediatricians with Emergency Medicine Experience in Miami Full-time and staff relief opportunities are available at two dynamic community-based pediatric emergency departments in the greater Miami-Dade County metro area and surrounding suburbs. We are seeking full-time fellowship-trained pediatric emergency medicine specialists and general pediatricians with extensive pediatric emergency experience to work in one of two locations within Baptist Health South Florida at Baptist Hospital in Miami and Homestead Hospital, located in the City of Homestead in southern Miami-Dade County. Multiple opportunities are available including leadership, committee involvement and performance improvement.
The Pediatric Emergency Department at Baptist Hospital had approximately 13,000 visits in 2022, while the Homestead Pediatric Emergency Department had roughly 19,000 visits. Shifts at both locations are 12-hour days/overnights with mid-shifts (8 to 10 hours) every day. The group is comprised of both board-certified pediatric emergency physicians and general pediatricians with extensive pediatric emergency experience. Homestead Hospital also has scheduled APP coverage on its busiest days.
Pediatric emergency physicians employed by Nicklaus Children s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the multispecialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children s Health System, provide coverage at Baptist Hospital and Homestead Hospital Pediatric Emergency Departments. The doctors in those two emergency departments transitioned in 2021 to employment by NCPS. Baptist Health South Florida and Nicklaus Children s shared focus of putting children and families first is a great combination for the families of Miami-Dade County. We are pleased that the physicians in the emergency departments at Baptist Hospital and Homestead Hospital continue to offer services to families who have come to know them there, while engaging with the extensive array of pediatric subspecialists available on Nicklaus Children s Medical Staff to support children and families with continuing specialized care needs. Candidates should share Nicklaus Children s commitment to delivering on its brand promise of a care environment where every child matters most.
There is a well-coordinated and robust transfer process between the two hospitals and the Nicklaus Children s Hospital main campus to support admissions and subspecialty care needs. Nicklaus Children's Hospital is a 307-bed freestanding children's hospital with an ACS-verified Level 1 pediatric trauma center.
