The Benefits Specialist is responsible for assisting with the administration of all U.S. and international health and welfare and financial benefits which include but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, and 401(k).
Responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities:
Enter employee benefit elections and ensure the accuracy of all enrollments in the HRIS.
Assist with new-hire orientations.
Perform monthly audits of all benefit plan enrollments.
Process all weekly and monthly benefit invoices.
Liaison with benefit providers when necessary to correct enrollment data and ensure life event changes are captured.
Respond to benefit inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
Assist with the process and administration of leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.
Assist with the open enrollment process.
Update international benefit summaries annually or as needed.
Oversee 401(k) contribution process each pay period and assist with annual audit.
Assist with annual ACA reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
Required Skills/Abilities:
Basic knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience:
Required:
Associate's degree in HR or related field, but experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for the education.
Two years' experience in HR and/or benefits administration.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field of study.
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification credential.
