Summary:
DME/HME Technicians are responsible for ensuring order entry and sustainable refills of home medical products and equipment for our customers while providing industry leading customer service.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain working knowledge of current DME/HME products and services offered by the Home Care department and all applicable governmental regulations.
2. Enter new orders, obtain authorization for products and supplies.
3. Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures, Process Standards, and Policies.
4. Manage and process new, existing, and refill orders.
5. Develop basic reimbursement knowledge and completely document all information necessary to ensure reimbursement for all appropriate equipment, products, and services.
6. Document, scan, and manage information in EMR system.
7. Verifies and documents member eligibility.
8. Maintains professional, customer service focused demeanor in telephone interactions with patients, families, and providers.
9. Complies with Plan and HIPAA confidentiality requirements protecting member personal identifiable health information.
10. Performs all other related DME/HME duties as needed.

Technical Expertise:
1. Proficient written and verbal communication skills required.
2. Experience working collaboratively with all levels of the organization is required.
3. Healthcare experience is preferred. Billing experience preferred.
4. Proficiency in MS Office Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point or similar software is preferred.
5. Thorough documentation skills required.
6. Positive and helpful communication skills required.
7. Knowledge of CMN documentation preferred.
8. Positive team player.
Education and Experience:
1. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required; bachelor's degree is preferred.
2. Experience in medical terminology is required.
3. Years of relevant experience: Minimum 1 year is required.
