Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Classification: Salary Exempt
Status: Full-time and Part-time
Reports To: Director of Clinical Services
Summary/Objective:
The BCBA works with the Director of Clinical Services and the team at Highlight. The BCBA consults, provides training to caregivers, and conducts behavioral evaluations of clients and designs behavior and individual support plans for clients. The BCBA is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, communicating and continually evaluating the effectiveness of functional assessments, behavioral evaluations, behavior plans and individual education plans for clients on their caseload. The BCBA is required to adhere to the BACB's Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts as well as all regulatory and statutory rules of the Board of Medicine for the State of Virginia.
Essential Functions:
Administers, conducts, evaluates and supervises the implementation of behavioral assessment measures and functional assessment measures
Develops individualized goals and objectives for home programs and designs behavior support plans based on functional assessment data
Ensures appropriate behavioral data systems are implemented such that quantifiable behavioral data is collected at regular intervals to allow for the continual evaluation of behavior plans and the achievement of individual goals and objectives
Is responsible for ongoing individual program oversight and conducting weekly supervision meetings with BCBAs, RBTs or ABA therapists
Meets regularly with Director of Clinical Services and notifies her/him immediately of issues impacting client's progress and satisfaction
Completes all necessary documentation in a timely and satisfactory manner as requested by the Director of Clinical Services
Maintains billable caseload and documents billable hours according to Highlight Educational and Behavioral Services policy and state and federal regulation
Fulfills responsibilities by demonstrating the following:
Supervises cases with appropriate frequency
o Supervision Summary Sheets completed
Develops client goals
o Align with Assessment data
o Match items in Documented Reports
Reviews data and monitors client progress weekly
o Graphs up to date
o Targets/goals updated within a week of mastery
Behavioral approach to intervention
o ABC Data for all problem behavior identified for reduction
o Functions identified
o Replacement behaviors identified
Makes Program Updates as needed
o Goals added and removed as data and ongoing assessment indicates
Creates appropriate data sheets
o Dimension being tracked is significant
o Type of data collection is feasible for employees
o Data is a reliable measure
o IOA done at onset of program to increase validity of data
Provides parent training
o Goals for parents identified and quantified
o Use Behavioral Skills Training protocol
o Written feedback notes
Conducts developmental assessments
o At minimum the frequency required by case insurance
o Progress reports updated to reflect most current assessment and goal information
Conducts monthly team meetings with all employee and parents present
o Review current status of programs
Monitor employee competencies
o Completes Employee Integrity Checklists
o Other treatment integrity measures
o Provide training to employees to promote development
o Assesses employee skills and uses BST to train employees
Seeks supervision and participates in professional development
Interactions with co-workers are professional and productive
o Focus is on objective observations, identification of problem, positive actions to take to resolve issues
o Maintains professional and respectful boundaries in conversations.
o Follows complaint policies when necessary
Additional Functions:
Actively communicates the Highlight Educational and Behavioral Services' outreach efforts to community
Responds to referrals for service in a timely and appropriate manner
Participates in professional meetings or conferences deemed to be beneficial program development
Adheres to the mission, vision and values of Highlight Educational and Behavioral Services
Required Education and Experience:
A master's degree and educational coursework completed in the areas of marriage and family therapy, child development, special education, psychology, or related field.
Certification from the BACB and Licensed by the Board of Medicine in the State of State .
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of DTT, PECS, and other ABA strategies.
A minimum of three years' experience working directly with children with Autism and/or developmental delays.
A minimum of one-year experience supervising BCaBA, RBT's, or ABA Therapist.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Ability to work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations.
Ability to stand and circulate for extended periods of time.
Ability to see for purposes of reading laws and codes, rules and policies, and other printed matter and observing students.
Work fluctuates between a clinical, office and home environment.
Climate is normal; occasional adverse weather conditions.
Regular contact with parents, community members and outside agency personnel.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time position, with possibility of . Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, hours will be afternoons.
