_This position is an expansion of our joint venture with the Madison County Child Advocacy Center (CAC)._

Alternatives Counseling has served people of all ages since 1991. While we provide counseling for a wide range of client problems, we offer a particular focus for people who have experienced sexual or physical abuse, neglect, domestic violence, or other trauma.
This position requires a Master's degree in psychology, social work, or counseling. Candidates must be licensed or eligible for professional licensure in Illinois (LCPC, LCSW, LMFT). The primary services provided in this position will be counseling to children, teens, and their families who are involved with the Madison County CAC, with services to be provided at that site. Children are typically interviewed at the CAC when there is suspected sexual abuse, severe physical harms, or when a child has witnessed a violent crime. Given these parameters, the ideal candidate has knowledge and experience in the treatment of sexual abuse, physical abuse, and trauma. Work hours at the CAC will include crisis intervention and participation in multidisciplinary case staffings in addition to providing individual and family therapy. Additional service hours may take place at our Glen Carbon or Alton offices. Starting salary range is 45K to 55K annually depending on licensure, training, and experience with relevant populations.
This position requires:
LCPC, LCSW or LMFT licensure or license eligible
Master's degree in a psychology, social work, counseling, or comparable field
Experience working with children, teens, and families
Training and experience with abuse and trauma treatment
A professional and personable presentation
The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Strong verbal and written communication skills
