Brownstone Construction Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Architect, licensed in both North and South Carolina, to join our growing Design Team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for innovative design. This person will be self-directed, have a high energy level, and have a high degree of personal initiative.
As the Senior Architect, you will be responsible for overseeing architectural projects from conception through completion, ensuring quality and efficiency at every stage, collaborating with other departments, and possessing a high business acumen for lead generation to maintain the growth and expansion of the architecture department.
Qualifications:
- NCARB registration, Licensed Architect in South Carolina, North Carolina, and a willingness to obtain a Georgia License.
- 15+ years of experience.
- Previous leadership experience in an architectural or design firm is highly preferred.
- Has knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes, OSHA compliance requirements, OSE, OSF, LLR, and DHEC, and a working knowledge of site planning, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering systems, methods, and general details.
- Experience in K-12, higher education, and or healthcare.
- Familiarity with design, modeling and graphic software (Revit, AutoCad, Adobe Creative Cloud, and/or similar applications)
- Expertise in creating 3D renderings and visualizations; Enscape experience preferred.
- Demonstrate ability to identify and address risks and potential issues within projects.
- LEED certification is a plus.
- Ability to travel as required to perform project work and deliver expected results. Travel is expected to be in the range of 10-15%, however, flexibility will be required depending on the project phase and progress.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- AIA membership preferred.

- Strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure clear understanding and alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
- Lead and manage architectural projects, providing direction and support to the project team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate drawings.
- Define and address project risks and potential issues, implementing effective solutions to mitigate these risks.
- Foster a collaborative working environment, promoting teamwork and open communication among team members.
- Ability to manage and coordinate between multiple office locations.
- Mentor and guide junior designers, providing constructive feedback and fostering their professional development.
- Feel comfortable presenting to staff, clients, and governing bodies, effectively articulating design concepts and project details.
