Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):$40.421 - $52.157 - $63.892
The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant's years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.
What You Will DoPlans and administers assigned respiratory care functions and duties. Integrates care with multidisciplinary team to facilitate patients' access to needed resource from pre-admission to discharge. Transfers knowledge and mentors others to improve clinical practice. The application of expert respiratory care principles will directly result in improved outcomes as assessed by patients, family, physicians and staff. In addition to the roles and responsibilities of a Respiratory Care Practitioner, the Advanced RCP applies the following respiratory care principles in the provision of science based comprehensive care delivery to the identified patient population.
Required Qualifications- Other : Graduate of a CoARC accredited respiratory therapy program.
- 3 Years experience in Respiratory Care.
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) - The National Board of Respiratory Care -REQUIRED
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) -REQUIRED
- California Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCP) - Respiratory Care Board of CA -REQUIRED
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - Various-Employee provides certificate -REQUIRED
Preferred Qualifications- NICU experience
- Associate's Degree
Essential Functions- Achieve patient outcomes
Identifies need for higher level of Pulmonary intervention in a specific patient group.
Identifies process improvement project / practice improvement opportunities. - Educational resource
Available to advice others on most optimal / advantageous practices for patient care delivery.
Demonstrates examples of improved outcomes due to intervention with other staff, clinicians or physicians.
Identifies dilemmas and takes appropriate steps to resolve issues and documents outcomes. - Training and mentoring
Precepts RCPs who successfully complete orientation competencies and demonstrates proficiency of post orientation competencies by time of annual review.
Ensures RCPs maintain Protocol documentation expectations. Measure: RCP submits correct documentation.
Mentors RCPs in best practice within Respiratory Care.
Initiates / Coordinates Pulmonary patient care conferences to address complex patient/family situations (patient not progressing, complications, family anxiety, staff upheaval).
