Domestic Attorney
Addair Law is looking for a dynamic and passionate advocate who can provide strategic legal support and guidance to our family clients.
Primary Function
The domestic attorney is responsible for providing compassionate representation to clients facing divorce, legal separation, paternity action, or numerous other issues that affect families.
Reporting and Accountability
The Domestic Attorney reports to the firm manager
Authority
The Domestic Attorney has the support and authority necessary to carry out the responsibilities and tasks described in this job description.
Physical Requirements
Ability to communicate verbally, in writing and read instructions
Ability to climb stairs and lift at least 30 pounds.
Education/Experience Requirements
Juris Doctor from an accredited university
Admitted to practice law in the State of Kansas
Knowledge of MyCase case management software a plus
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide legal support and guidance to clients
Attend hearings in courts or administrative agencies
Find ethical solutions to clients' biggest legal issues
Advise clients on best behaviors during the course of their case
Strong communication with clients about their cases
Research case law to support arguments and continuously learn about statutes and cases that may help identify legal issues in future clients' cases
Prepare and participate in litigation when necessary
Prepare and review legal documents
Assist clients with execution of documents and agreements
Ensure that clients are responsive and timely on financial agreements
Commitment to behaving ethically and following the rules of professional conduct
Willingness to follow and participate in the firm's marketing efforts;
Adaptability and attention to detail
Willingness to collaborate with non-lawyer staff to complete cases
Ability to work on cases independently
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
