Key member of the Gravis Law team, the Sr. Accountant is responsible for performing a wide range of duties within the accounting cycle including, but not limited to:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Specifically, this position's duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Manage daily financial operations including bank account, trust account, credit card coding, and a high emphasis on reconciliations.
- Hourly use of all facets of Xero, Legal Billing Software, and Case Management Software.
- Responsible for client invoicing and monitoring of accounts receivables/payables, and trust ledger. This includes reconciliation of data from legal software program and overseeing the IOLTA refund process.
- Strengthen the accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and document these processes.
- Provide and keep up financial ledgers, spreadsheets, and statements with financial analysis to management as requested.
- Prepare weekly financial forecasting reports as requested.
- Assist with Balance Sheet, Income Statement (P&L), Journal Entries, and the Firm's annual budget preparation.
- Other similar duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA License preferred.
• 7+ years of accounting or related work experience.
• Ability to handle high volume workload in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be comfortable working in Xero/QuickBooks, PowerBI, Microsoft Excel, Word and other related software tools. Experience with Legal Billing Software and Case Management Software preferred.
• Law firm accounting experience is highly preferred.
• Must be able to self-manage time and work priorities
• Detail-oriented, accurate and efficient.
• Works well on a team and individually.
• Proficient in data entry and management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Duties will be performed in a standard office environment. Employees must have the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with Gravis policy. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally be required to work weekends, holidays, be on call, and some employees could be required to travel overnight on occasion.
