General PurposeThe senior tax accountant-property/revenue is responsible for compliance support for all aspects of taxes other than income taxes including the property tax, sales/use and other revenue tax functions of PacifiCorp.
Responsibilities of this position include the following:- Prepare state and local property, sales and use, revenue, and other filings including related payments.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly accounting reconciliations and journal entries related to the accrual of property and other revenue taxes, including supporting disclosure information in internal and external financial reports.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to estimations of property and other revenue tax expense for internal budgetary and public utility regulatory purposes.
- Assist with technical research, audit support and property tax appeals.
- Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Requirements of this position include the following:Requirements of the Tax Accountant position include the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
- Three years of related work experience, two of which are in accounting with a certified public accounting designation or a graduate business degree. If not certified public accounting designation or graduate business degree, five or more years of related work experience, of which two years are in accounting.
- Accounting and financial statement knowledge and experience with accounting information systems.
- Strong working knowledge and ability to analyze and manipulate data large data sets with some supervision and direction.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to streamline processes.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
In addition to the above, Senior Tax Accountant requirements include:
- Six years of related work experience, four of which are in accounting with a certified public accountant designation or a graduate business degree. If no certified public accountant designation or graduate business degree, eight or more years of related work experience, four of which are in accounting.
Preferences- Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
