Job Overview:
The Process Engineer will focus on creating and overseeing standardized production methods; creating and maintaining all documentation for products, such as work instructions and related procedures. Establishes production standard times and drives continuous improvement in the areas of efficiency and quality while reducing scrap and lost time to achieve organizational objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Apply continuous improvement methods such as TPS to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, and improve efficiency.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain accurate time standards for all manufacturing processes.
- Conducts audits on a continued basis to identify areas of process improvement as specific product volumes increase or decrease.
- Drive assembly and process procedure documentation.
- Designing production processes that maximize efficiency and reduce waste.
- Focused on reducing and eliminating equipment lost-time and scrap by utilizing good analytical methodologies.
- Introduce innovations in production and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Provide training to make sure processes and equipment are used effectively.
- Manage maintenance and mechanical emergencies.
- Make sure employees and equipment comply with safety regulations.
- Perform detailed Design of Experiments (DOE) and analyze results using statistical methodology.
- Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
- Ensure that manufacturing processes emphasize safety and remove/redesign potentially hazardous and overly fatiguing processes.
- Any additional responsibility deemed necessary by management.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a technical field including Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or related disciplines.
- Minimum of 5 years related experience in manufacturing or assembly processes.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing, mechanical processes, electrical systems, and electronic assembly equipment including SMT and through-hole.
- Knowledge of computer or PLC based machine control systems is required.
- CAD experience designing 3D models and detailed work and assembly drawings in Solidworks and or AutoCAD is required.
- Knowledge of TPS, Lean, and Six Sigma theory and practices is required.
- Experience creating methodical video-based work/assembly instructions to be accessed by the operator at the workstation is desirable.
- Experience with manufacturing ERP/MRP systems (Syteline, Epicor, Oracle, etc.) preferred.
- Strong skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint) with the ability to learn new systems and tools quickly.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
