Center for Pediatric Therapy is a recognized leader in offering premier pediatric therapy services. Our team of experienced pediatric therapists is made up of Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Speech Therapists all working hand-in-hand to provide the highest level of comprehensive care available anywhere.
We believe in an interdisciplinary approach. Our therapists are highly trained and specialized in areas such as Sensory Integration, Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT), Oral Motor and Feeding, Speech and Language, and Motor Skill Acquisition.
Responsibilities
Completes patient evaluations and reassessments in accordance with company guidelines
Supervision of COTA team members
Develops an individualized plan of care based upon evaluation/reassessment findings according to company guidelines
Monitors patient response to treatment intervention
Provides clinical support to assigned outpatient clinic or specialty program
Provides instruction/education to patients and families/care givers
Documents information in patient medical record and billing
Participates in staff and student development
Works with departmental staff and other health care professionals by volunteering regularly to help others when time allows
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
Competencies in: sensory processing, feeding therapy, handwriting, behavioral management and emotional regulation PREFERRED
Current Texas state license to practice occupational therapy
BLS - Cert- Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) preferred
Knowledge and understanding of rehabilitative care of patients with acute and chronic conditions, and knowledge of development from the ages of neonate to adulthood
Successful demonstration of the professional fundamental competencies
Must be courteous and supportive in dealing with clinic, administrative and departmental personnel, patients and parents with ability to honor confidentiality
Ability to independently treat patients by developing and following the established therapy plan of care
Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills and knowledge of basic office equipment such as fax, copier and PC
Pediatric Experience Strongly Preferred
